I have to add this site to my list of daily reads......a happy, positive blog to start one's day off right.

Doncha just love when a child keeps you awake ALL night (1am-6am), gets to sleep all morning??? (Note:: webcam pic)
Ugh, and as if my neck wasn't keeping me awake before then? I am in serious need of some *keep me awake* drugs, LOL
The odd part is that he was on fast forward, and almost hallucinating about things. I wonder if he was truly awake or what. He was talking to his brother, like he was in the room about putting on different socks..... I hope he's okay.

So, I've come to find out that my brother was consoling several members of the NJ Devils after their loss on Saturday night in Denver. He works at a local restaurant/bar/club there, and they all came in after the game. Maybe he said something to get them back on track, LOL.
You know that I will get my period soon when I start eating........12 green olives out of the jar, a HEAPING tablespoon of creamy peanut butter, a hot dog (microwaved, cuz I'm on an eating binge) and 4 Chips Ahoy! Peanut Butter cookies in the matter of 3 minutes.....give or take 30 seconds, LOL.
Last night, the stars musta been WAY out of alignment......she went to bed at ::gasp:: 10 pm!!!!!! Was the game even over then Laura? LOL

::sigh:: The insurance world SUCKS!!!!! *They* have decided that my father doesn't need the best care, and that his doctors are above and beyond what is necessary for his treatment/cure, so we could go to a choice of 4 other doctors, 3 in NJ, one at the Univ. of Penn. I wonder what their approval/denial record would be for their employees??? Glad they can make the call on a man, who is deteriorating daily.
His doctors have written an appeal, and everything is on hold 'til then. Thanks Horizon!!!

Yikes, Monmouth County, NJ is under a Tornado Warning for the next 20 minutes, it said on the TV to take shelter. Glad I don't live near there and I hope everyone will be okay. Ack, they just mentioned that MY specific area is going to have SEVERE thunderstorms very shortly.....::shivering::
Yes, I live in the area of RED, which is bad on a radar map. Funny, the area of the *tornado* shows no rain....Hmmm

The OFFICIAL Boo Berry Page: Main Menu, LOL, this was my brother's favorite cereal!!
Thursday night...we watched Space Cowboys, on Friday, The Kid. John watched Dungeons and Dragons without me. Last night, we watched Finding Forrester, and today was The Emperor's New Groove. I hate rainy weekends, but enjoyed the movies :-)
I did however, take advantage of the $4.99/lb live lobster sale......dinner will be yummy tonight.

This site is in the midst of moving, and I can't remember what I was typing into google that brought it up (happened when blogspot was down, and NO, I wasn't searching out vaginas), but I actually followed most of the working links and was LMVO
Yes, we are back!!!
Anyway....no news on when surgery will be, too many bloodtests and other preadmin things to do.....hopefully by the 2nd or 3rd week of June.
This Memorial Day weekend SUCKS. It's been raining since Tuesday, cold, dark and damp and will rain well into next Wednesday. How are we supposed to enjoy that??? Stephanie is supposed to march on Monday with the Daisies, but I'm not going if it's yucky out. They have no clue how long the march is and the 5yr old dictated to the leader that they wanted to march...with no parental input. Who leaves decisions up to 5 yr. olds with no sense of distance??
All my rhodadendrons and azaleas are in full bloom, if that's what you can call it, but with the cold weather and rain, the blooms that did manage to come out have now fallen off from the rainfall. Glad I enjoyed them for, oh, say.....a DAY!!!
John also managed to finish the patio last Monday, before the rain started and it looks lovely, too bad we can't enjoy it. He bought these beautiful $60 bug torch things.....copper, brass and iron, and he wants to get a chimnea to add to the ambiance.
Well, time to get a movin'......checkin' my blogs and all.
GO DEVILS!!!

My dad has made it through his first procedure with no setbacks......now we await a surgical date, hopefully next week.

Do you watch The Sopranos? I do, but I am from Northern New Jersey, and I've been to/seen/driven through most of the scenes and know about all those little things they say in the dialogue, Livingston (where Carmela's new therapist is), Turtle Back Zoo, Bloomfield Ave, Montclair State (where Carmela, my husband and I went to college, LOL) etc...... They even filmed parts of the first season finale (the roundup of Corrado's guys) at my husband's uncle's house, which happens to be down the street from the *Soprano* house. John's cousin works at the club that is turned into the Bada Bing. I think that's why we truly enjoy the show here, but I am wondering if those, not from this area, enjoy it as much??
And by the way......although I've heard most of the accents/language around here, I've never heard of *whores* referred to as Hoo-ures, like Ralphie says.
Also, Carmela's nails......I can't even tell ya how many people DON'T have nails like that in Essex County, LOL

WOOHOO!!!!!!! Repeat????
Tomorrow at 1pm EST (Wednesday), my dad will be having a stent put in. They will be going down the esophagus, thru the stomach to the duodenum (beginning of the small intestines) and then back up somewhere to the bile duct and placing this stent (tubing) in to drain the backed up bile and other yucky things that have not been processing correctly.
Hopefully, he'll be back home and resting by 3/3:30.
Then, probably next week sometime, he'll be having his MAJOR surgery. Still holding up well and just living our plans out day to day.

Okay, how come when I am linking to a specific, previous post of mine, I'm not getting brought RIGHT to that entry???
Steffi's dance recital is in 5 hours. I need to start the curlers and everything else going. I wasn't going to have anyone back to the house afterwards, but given the recent medical news in my family, I've decided to invite my family over for some *quality* time. Although, I did have to scrap the menu I was planning, given some recent bloodwork results for my father. So, now we are having some kind of chicken salad in whole-wheat pitas, and a green bean salad.
Tata......off to get the shining star ready :-)
Good luck Steffi!!

Man.....I'm sorta LOL, but am also annoyed. Last night we had a Tiger Cub meeting, and B was there. (It got moved from B's house)
So, I kept Johnny within earshot last night, and probably was hovering too much, but I'm glad I did. B came to me on 3 different occasions to try and get my son in trouble. Which didn't happen, LOL.
First thing, we get there and B starts on this speech of how we're not gonna fight, he's gonna stay away from John and blah..blah...blah...etc..... His mom grabbed him and said something to him. He came back and was quiet. John ignored him.
Then, John is on the couch playing some kind of mind-puzzle game. One of those things that look so simple, but teases the heck out of your mind. Anyway, he was getting frustrated and mutters something about it being stupid, VERY quiet and right next to me, so I heard EXACTLY what he said. B comes over, from 2 people away to tell me that John is saying bad things.......I don't think so.
Later, they are playing charades and B comes to tell me that John just said he was gonna f' himself. Now, my son's *bad* language, consists of damn, shut up, sexy, and balls. Then I was noticing that from where B was, if he heard it, so should have the whole room. B's mother took him again into the kitchen and told him to quit it, I guess, I don't know. But, needless to say, I asked John, and he said he didn't say anything like that. I believe him. I know the kind of things he does say, and they are nowhere close to being that obscene. Unfortunately, I've heard B say REALLY nasty things.....
As we are leaving.....B, very sweetly and apologetically, says to John, "John, I'm sorry I told you to shut up" which got all kinds of praise and accolades from the room. "John, aren't you gonna tell me that you are sorry you told me to shut up?" I looked at John and asked him if he said that. He said no. I said aren't you gonna tell B that you accept his apology. He looked at me, with a grump face on, and said, I didn't tell him to shut up......and we opened the door and left.....
I'm thinking this boy, just wanted to see John get in trouble, which I did not give him the satisfaction of seeing.

Totally unimpressed with the Friends' Season Finale. Watching ER now, last 15 minutes of the show coming......COULD be interesting.........
Other things on my plate.......
My Dad has some kind of mass that is affecting his pancreas, stomach, gallbladder, small intestines, and I think liver. Found out all this information today, which really, the story just started unravelling in the last week or so.
Depending on bloodwork tomorrow, he can find out if he can just have an operation, or needs to be hospitalized, get the bilirubin under control with the use of shunts and then be operated on.
If they open him up and see that the mass is not contained, they will close him up and put him under chemo and radiation. If it is operable and a major vein is not in the way, all will be good for removal. Can't remember if he would need chemo and radiation after.
Long operation.....probably 8 hours. Done at a MAJOR cancer hospital by a pancreatic specialist...top of the line doctor. Both mom and dad seem strong/positive. May be in hospital 7-21 days, average stay is 10 days for this procedure.
I'm handling this well for now.....maybe I'm just in denial of how serious this could be...
They've never mentioned malignancy vs. benign...yet.
Good thoughts will be appreciated.

Apologies to all of you checking in here, and not seeing anything new in almost 2 days. I don't think I've stopped running around since I woke up the morning after my last post. There is a lot going on here, good and bad and I need to sit back and recoup, LOL.

This is my blog and this is my rant about being a parent.....feel free to skip, but I need to get these things out of my head. Tonight there was a phone call I made to one of my son's classmate's parents. I blew up at her, she denied any wrongdoing by her son and I'm sick to my stomach. This woman and boy are not liked by many, due to the way she deals with people and her son's behaviors, but me, not being prejudice based on other's opinions, decided that I would just roll with the punches with my children and their friends. I understand kids don't get along and then they do, but then there are those who clash. We've had issues with this child since last year, but again, these kids were 5, then 6 and now 7, things couldn't be THAT serious. Boy, am I naive.
This latest bunch of nonsense stems from this child, B, calling my son names, punching him, harassing him and threatening him. My son sometimes does annoying things. He sometimes gets fed up with B calling him names and reacts, but never physically. All normal kid shit...... B annoys my son, but John has learned to ignore B, B gets ignored and gets more in Johnny's face.....Johnny retaliates and gets in trouble. B is in a special afterschool program to learn to deal with others better. I call mom of B and she saids, "well, with all that your child does, and what others say about him, you have to know that he is not well liked either.....but I am not gonna get into he said, she said, so I'll just tell the teacher and bus driver to keep them seperated". She didn't say, I'll talk to B and concentrate on him staying away from Johnny, or anything about B and Johnny. She made it into everyone vs. Johnny, B was innocent.
I also told her specific mean things he has said to Johnny, threatening to kill him or send him to the school that the troubled kids go to to get beat up, and she didn't even say one word about any of that......her response was always, well John annoys B too......Okay, I understand that, but when B annoys Johnny, he has learned to ignore him and walk away......Punching, threatening will NOT be tolerated, she did NOT address those issues. What things did John do to B, personally? She will not tell me......I wonder if there is anything??? My son and daughter say no, no calls from the school.....so what is he doing to B??? besides annoying him for WHATEVER reason.
We have talked to Johnny, many a time and told him to stop dancing around, but if the radio is on, on the bus, why can't he dance around (not up and about physically, but moving his little hiney in the chair, not distracting to the driver) His sister is on the bus, and given the chance, she'd tattle if he was bad......it's not like he's doing anything bad, just annoying to B.
What also gets me is that John tells on B, and the teacher says, "In one ear, out the other" fine, I understand, but when a problem is CONSTANTLY occuring.....can't something be done about that, or something said to B. How many 7yr. olds can just let something go on and on and on and ignore it constantly without the perpertrator(sp?) being told to stop it!
They are constantly on opposing teams and Johnny is an extremely good all-around athlete. Guess what, B doesn't like that, so given the chance he will constantly get in John's face, I've seen it first hand. Why should my son be subjected to someone always in his face and he (Johnny) gets reprimanded for retaliating, but B is just told to take a breath?
I guess what bothers me the most is that I was citing many things that I have seen first hand between our boys and she wouldn't give me one example of what Johnny was doing, only that she's heard stories of how John is.....
Okay...so, if you have no friends, which I am aware that maybe 2 of the parents of the children in class talk to her, where are you getting these *stories* from. I admit it, I'm in a semi-clique with 7 moms of the 10 boys in class. We have playdates constantly with the boys in class, 5 of us are on the same baseball team, and guess what, our boys NEVER have a problem. So all these stories are coming from where? All the hatred of Johnny is done by whom?
My child is NOT perfect. He does need to be put in line every so often. He doesn't have a bad/dirty mouth.....or at least doesn't use it all that often around here. He doesn't like to clean up after his younger brother, but would you??? He truly loves his brother, sister, parents, teacher, and friends. He tries to be diplomatic when others are fighting. He tells his sister and brother to Shut Up more than I would like, he sometimes can be a real geek while doing something (making goofy faces and dancing about like a goof), but so am I...... He's learned not to talk back so much, there are consequences to bad behavior...he's funny, a lot of parents enjoy watching him during the class parties, he gets invited to friend's houses often.
I know that the teacher has already decided that these boys will be seperated next year, to give them fresh starts away from each other. We will be seeing him at the Spring Luau on Friday night, and the Tiger Cub meeting Saturday night is at his house.....boy, I just CAN'T wait for that.....should be real fun
I love you Johnny!!! Mommy and Daddy only want the best for you!!!!

All is happy in my blogger world again.....Thanks Ev...whomever you may be. I also am happy with the way that I got my archives now. I may be doing a redesign during Ally McBeal, depending on my tissue need (Robert Downey Jr.'s last show, and I'm a SAP)
So, I went on my monthly trail ride today, a top of Blaze, a mexican mixed horsey. I've never ridden a trail that was as steep as today's, nor covered with so many rocks....a beginner rider may have been a bit nervous, but as I am comfortable riding, I was fine. I could have done without the horse in front of me farting. THAT was the NASTIEST smell I ever did smell......OMG!!!! I can't wait until my June ride comes around......
We also toured a police station today, with the Daisy troop my daughter belongs too. Brought back a LOT of memories of when I dated a cop in my younger years.......I could say a lot of things about the police here, but it would be making a lot of generalizations and I wouldn't want to offend anyone who might have a significant other involved in that biz.....

Mother's Day went quite well here, after I chilled out a bit......I expect everything to be picture perfect and that I have no responsibilities for the day......after I pout for a bit and realize all that was really done for me, I'm fine, LOL. I just WISH one day, I'll get some kind of *mother* type jewelry...... I did receive two potted marigolds, from the children, made in school; fresh cut lilacs from our bush outside; a dozen roses that John bought from the teen group after Mass; two folding camping chairs and a Tassajara mountain bike. John wanted to still use the cruise as a gift for Christmas, Mother's Day and my birthday, but felt bad lumping Mother's Day in there.....he made a good call.
I love when a telemarketer calls and I don't have to lie about whatever they're selling, I actually have a honest refusal, LOL. i.e. Kitchen Magic called......we just had ours redone last year...; financial services......sorry, hubby is a stockbroker/CFP/ChFC.

Randomly surfing most recently updated blogs again, and realized that Digital Swirlee was a name I've seen before.......of course, he has Lala in his links.....
Blogplates: Home...... I see some great design ideas here, and definitely will be using you as a reference :-) Great job!!
Well, it seems everytime I come on here to update this thingamajig.....something stops me. I really don't have the time right now either, but I'll try, LOL. We've been VERY busy here, and I just looked at the calendar for next week and my goodness......where the heck did all my free time go.
Today, I have to buy ingredients for dessert for tomorrow, go to the cleaners, make cards for tomorrow, try to get to the town fair, and then we have a baseball game at 3.
Also, being that no one is gonna be home for more than 2 hours next week, LOL, I would like to totally straighten this place up, so when we are NOT home, it'll still remain tidy, hullo.......
I am excited about Monday. I joined a group in town that has an Equestrian interest group, so after 12 years of not being on a horse, I am going on a 1.5 hr trail ride, once a month!!!!!! There is babysitting available at another member's house, so I am SO psyched. Then on Wednesday, there is a new Gourmet cooking group, again with babysitting and we're making some awesome stuff to eat for lunch. The Spring Luau at school is Friday, along with Steffi's dance rehearsal for her recital, next Sunday.
I was also approached last night (while volunteering at Carnival Night), about being co-treasurer of the PTA, since I do want the *job* in two years. She figures, it might be nice to be transitioned in, and even if they don't approve it, she's gonna show me the ropes, unofficially. I signed up to chair the phone chain for next year as well, AND I have become a brownie leader for my daughter's troop........
Yikes......now that this is all in print, I'm scared, LOL.......
Well, have a great weekend, and a Happy Mother's Day!!!!!

Okay......I fixed my archives.......how in the heck did I do it? I don't know, but they are there. I actually started a new blog to check the templates, LOL. I, however, will not be using that blog. Now I have to figure out how I want to post them, all neat and tidy, with only the word Archives that opens to another page, and not a zillion different lines for the archives......babble.....babble.....babble...
My grocery store trip yesterday consisted of buying, two bags of Doritos.....choc. creme oreos, reg. oreos, Keeble peanut butter fudge sticks, mixed Beary Teddy Grahams, 6 bottles of seltzer and a package of grapes. I know what they mean now about not shopping when hungry, LOL

What to do.......I want to watch this sappy movie on CBS, but just remembered that Celebrity Millionaire is on......oh well, too late to stick in the tape now. I'm one of those people who can't miss the previews in the theater, because then, I think that I missed the climax of the following 2 hour movie.
Mmmm......I love Spinach and Strawberry salad, Darla. I've even had it with a hot honey mustard dressing with poppy seed, if my memory serves me correctly. I think that was the time, that there was grilled chicken in it as well.....Mmmmm
Sounds like you had a BLAST yesterday..... I also wish, when it came to my wedding, that there were invitees as courteous as your family was, in letting the bride/groom know ahead of time that you could not make the wedding.

Okay dinner was pretty decent, no leftovers, everyone having seconds, not TOO spicy for the kids...... Next time, I'll have to remember to use more cheese though. I like cheesy...
Mmmmm..... I hope this recipe is GOOD, this sounds yummalicious. I'll let you know. We didn't have mexican last night (Cinco de Mayo) because we would have had to drive 30min. and we were starving, so we went gourmet instead.....
I had Chicken and Shrimp something or other, John had Tihlapia and Shrimp something or other, and the kids split a fried fish (Flounder, lobster, clam, scallops, shrimp and calamari) platter.
So.....needless to say my mexican thirst needs to be quenched.

Ugh.......I've been playing games here for a few days now, and I had only 4 numbers not chosen, besides my picks for the big prize....ACKSurvivorStakes.com The point of the game is to choose 5 numbers, and have different rounds/stakes where if your numbers don't get landed on, you win......
Did that make any sense?? Aw hell, look at the game for yourself, LOL.....I've been up for 17 hours now and am confusing. Oh, and if you happen to sign-up......use donnab@momslife.com for a refererral.....

Darla, how cool is it, that you have that area to retreat to all the time. We go down once a year, with my inlaws, and it used to be to the same house, each week, each year, but since the owner died, we are left scurrying willynilly for a house..... You painted such a beautiful pic of that lovable Jersey shore, and the house that love built!!!
Make sure you tell those stories, I'll ask your kids in later years, LOL.

Do you belong to blogtwo?? You are in my referrers, but I can't get to your page......lemme know PLEASE This is driving me insane.
I've been a bad, bad, blogger........I have this garage sale coming up tomorrow, and I've really been a SUPER busy little beaver. I have links to add, comments to make. Maybe tonight, since my mom has the baby (3 yr. old, LOL) for the weekend. She takes my kids, out for a whole weekend, by themselves, for their birthdays....today is the circus for Tommy. John (dh) has the opportunity to go to the Knicks game tonight.....so he won't be home. My plans are to totally finish the garage sale prep once Steffi goes to school in 15 minutes......
I'm eating a loaf of garlic bread for lunch.....can ya smell me? LOL

Good luck to my friend Lala on her project due in an hour. Here she is busier than shit, and me pestering her on ICQ for some nonsense...she ever so politely told me she was busy, and I felt foolish bothering her. Good luck Sweetie...I'm sure you'll do fine!!!
What Type of Flirt Are You?
So, did you hear the one about the funny flirt? You probably have, because it's you! Being a Silly Flirt, you know that laughter is often the quickest way to someone's heart. Your conversations with "potentials" are always peppered with the latest jokes and catchphrases, and you'll do anything — including humiliating yourself — to get the object of your affection to crack a smile. Just make sure that your quest for yuks doesn't blind you to other flirting approaches. You don't want to be stuck in "pal" purgatory. Sometimes a soft brush on the arm or a lingering look wins more points than even the funniest story. We're not saying you need to jump in someone's lap tomorrow (unless you think it might get you a big guffaw...), but a little directness could take you a long way. Still, until you're ready to expand your act, it's great to keep 'em laughing.

I'm taking this test right now.....will let you know the results......
Also, from Darla, I'm taking the What's Your Perfect Car test
Donna, you're a Convertible
Ooo wee! You've got the wind in your hair, the sun on your face, and anyone with two eyes wishing they could nestle into your passenger seat. You're all about top-down, Convertible fun. We're thinking '69 Mustang, '64 Corvette, or Mazda Miata, in cherry red, of course. The car for you embodies youth, freedom, and summertime excitement. You've got a wild outlook on life and are always game for a good time. Since you're comfortable being the center of attention, you zip around town looking sleek and fresh, stealing flirty glances from your rearview mirror. Being so sexy and open, you attract friends, love interests, and joy riders wherever you go. It's no surprise if some hot number pulls alongside to challenge you to a little drag down Lovers Lane. You're the classic party mobile so crank up the music and hit the open road.
When you decide to take the plunge and make that flashy red Mustang your very own, make sure you do it with E-loan. Approval is so quick and easy, it'll hardly cut into your weekend cruising time. Just imagine how cool you'll feel when you take it out for that first road trip. There's no better way to get your dream car.
